Nappy Run supports children with disabilities!
Start: 1 Oct, 2012 12:00 AM
End: 3 Nov, 2012 12:00 AM
Duration: Greater than one day
Location: Several venues in the Western Cape
Cost: Free
Created by
Western Cape Association for Persons with Disabilities
Children with disabilities are amongst the most disadvantaged in South Africa and are acknowledged by the UN as the world’s most vulnerable and exposed minority group.Parenting a child with disabilities is extremely expensive, and nappies are often unaffordable and viewed as a luxury item. This especially true for those children who are already marginalised, disadvantaged and residing in care centres which are under-resourced, low on funding, operating with minimal staff and lacking in basic daily necessities such as diapers. Thus the ‘Nappy Run’ concept is to create awareness and educate the public about the living conditions of children with disabilities as well as appeal for donations of much-needed nappies. The public will be able to donate nappies at AlphaPharm pharmacies or their closest APD office. Keep watching our cause page for updated news on events in your area and join us in brining dignity to children with disabilities!
