Then and now at Nhlakanipho Day Care
When CAN visited Nhlakanipho Day Care the first time, the children had no toys, no mattresses to sleep on and not a blanket for each child. The child minder had to occupy them without toys. The children slept on a carpet on the floor and they had to share blankets.
Since then we've received donations for educational toys from a school and taken it to Nhlakanipho Day Care. Trinity United Church donated the mattresses. They were so thick that they had to be taken with a trailer to the day care centre. Barbara's Christian Healing donated blankets. CAN donated soft dolls which the kids spontaneously used as pillows.
A youth member from a church gave them a monatory donation more recently. What a difference a few acts of kindness can make.
