My life for good Home

What can I do?

Raise money for a good cause

Decide on how you'll raise the money

Going door-to-door:
If you live in a community where you know your neighbours well, then this could work for you. However, most people will not open their doors for a stranger. If you decided to go this route, you should take someone with you. School children should not go knocking on people's doors on their own either. You could also simply slip a flyer under the door and if someone is interested they will contact you.

Create a stand:
You can set up a small table and chair in a public place like outside a shop in a mall or at a school or church. You will have to speak to the relevant authorities about setting up. If you are given permission, make sure you have a container for money and some flyers and posters about your project.

Plan an event:
Organise an event that anyone can go to like a concert or fun walk. You can then use the money you get from selling tickets and food for your project.

Ask a company to sponsor your project:
Many companies are willing to be associated with projects aimed at bringing change. Approach the company and find out the process required.

Use skills and talents you have:
You can also use your skills to raise money. For instance if you know how to bake, you can make cakes and sell them at a school.

"We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we live."
