Forgood groups are where the real work gets done. Once you’ve created your profile, forgood automatically sends you updates on groups in your interest area or community.

NPOs, organisations and individuals can also create a group profile to communicate the good they do and to advertise their activities and needs (time, money or goods).

Those who need

Groups or charities can post their needs to show the world how to help out. A need may be made up of many items. Each item could be requests for money (in Rands), time (in hours), or things – goods for an activity or for the daily running of an organisation.

Go to your group profile and create your need or find out more about needs.

Those who want to give

Keen to help a group meet their needs? Browse through the needs. Filter by a category you're passionate about or by 'near me'. Contribute as much as you can to a need.

The group organiser will contact you to collect your donation. Please be sure to honour your commitment. And watch how lives are changed.

Very soon, 'offers' will be added. This will allow any individual or group the chance to offer their time, talents, goods, discounts or services. Any group or member can then bid for this offer and the person who posted the offer will select which candidate will receive the offer.

Doing good is rewarding

We know you do it from your heart but forgood members can also earn points, badges and rewards for doing good.

Earn points and badges for doing a host of things on forgood. Once you’ve accumulated a certain number of points, you'll be eligible for a reward in our Give-Get programme.

Good points

Good points are the points you receive for taking action online with forgood and in the real world. Clock up your points if you form a group, attend an activity, post photos, help meet a need on the marketplace or post a good news story.

Badges

Badges add bling to your profile page. They are awarded to forgood members who go out of their way to do good. These members have the most friends, earn the most rewards and do the most on forgood.

Give/Get

Earning a certain level of good points qualifies you for real-life rewards in our Give/Get programme. The more points you earn, the more rewards you can claim.

There are 3 levels to earn rewards for yourself and others on forgood. Reach one of these levels and you will be eligible to "give" away a gift voucher to a group of your choice on forgood. And you'll "get" a reward for yourself. That's Give/Get!
