Zifuneleni principal opens his heart and wallet to pupils

Zifuneleni Primary School Principal Michael Mangena is a principal with a good heart. Each month he contributes R500 of his own money to the school’s feeding scheme which provides meals to more 85 children everyday. Mr Mangena has turned around the image of the school which was falling to pieces. Five years ago, he called Mr Ruby Mathang the ward councillor from Orlando Ward 30 and told him that his school needed help to renovate the classrooms and the library which did not have books or research facilities. Now it is one of the best performing schools and has a functioning feeding scheme - a school that can empower the children who attend.
