A garden of food for thought
A food and peace garden was set up recently in Kewtown, to provide food for the children in the area and as a tribute to all people who have died due to gang violence in the area. The garden was provided by the City of Cape Town’s Housing Directorate and Environmental Resource Management Department as well as the Green Communities Project Development, which is a non-profit organization. The garden is filled with vegetables that the children can benefit from. The peace garden is also a message to the community that it is their decision to have peace rather than violence.
