Earth warriors
How about transforming a dumping site into a leisure park where children can play and relax after school? That is the exciting idea community members in Kanana Township, Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, began recently.
Tsholofelo Carrol Lwanga, the Chairperson of Thusanang Foundation mobilised the community and the hard work kicked off on Mandela Day in July this year. “The work is still ongoing; we hope to be ready in about three months,” says Tsholofelo. “We’d like to thank the staff and management of forgood for the ideas, inspiration as well as support it offers us through its cellphone messages. We shall continue to do good, for the good of the community and everyone.”
