Childline Gauteng

Childline Gauteng offers the following core services: • 24 / 7 Toll Free, Help Line - telephone counselling and support to 200 000 callers (children families and community members) dealing with family problems and facilitating child protection; • Sunlight Safe House: after hours place of safety for 150 children in life threatening circumstances (abuse, neglect and abandonment); 50 long-term foster care placements in volunteer community homes; and 39 youth in the Independent Living programme; • Counselling and Support Services in our Childline Community Based Centres (CCBCs) in the Inner City, Soweto, Sebokeng, Orange Farm, Katorus, Diepsloot and Tembisa: 10 000 counselling services to 8 000 abused and traumatised children ensuring child protection; and life skills / therapeutic groups; • Community Awareness and Prevention Programme (CAPP) - Empowering 70 000 learners in 80 school communities, preventing child abuse and ensuring early intervention in child abuse and neglect; • Ringa ...
