3 out of 4 children in Botswana do not have access to early childhood education and by 2050, 400 million children in Africa will be at risk of poor social, emotional and mental wellbeing. Learn To Play is making play-based early childhood education accessible in Africa through playgroups, parenting programmes and mindful play. Mindful play supports children to develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. By engaging in activities that promote emotional awareness and self-regulation, children learn to navigate challenges, build healthy relationships and develop their cognitive abilities. We implement programmes directly in Botswana and train partner organisations across Africa to run The Parent Playbox and Mindful Way. Our direct work in Botswana addresses both access and quality of early learning by setting up playgroups and supporting existing centres.
