From struggle to strength: How forgood helped us rebuild and reach more lives!

When we joined the forgood platform in June 2020, our organization was in a tough place. We were struggling to provide daily meals for our beneficiaries, and the lack of funds had brought everything to a standstill. We couldn’t pay our staff, and our vital programs were on hold. It felt like we were losing hope,until we discovered forgood's platform.

Registering on the platform was a turning point. We posted our needs and wishes, not knowing what to expect. To our amazement, responses started pouring in. Corporates and individuals stepped in to support us. For the first time, we felt seen and valued. The exposure was transformative, it allowed us to serve our community better and reminded us that we weren’t alone.

The best moment that truly surprised us was when we requested computers for our computer program. At the time, we didn’t have a single computer, which severely limited our ability to teach and empower. Then came a miracle, in South Africa, a large company with ties to Germany, saw our needs list on the platform and donated, brand new computers worth over R100,000. Their generosity gave us essential tools and sparked a lasting partnership that continues to support our work.

Ever since joining the forgood’s platform, our organization has undergone significant changes. As an NGO, we rely heavily on the platform’s support, and it has kept us operational. Our team has become skilled at using the platform by attending masterclasses, regularly posting needs and receiving help. We’ve even expanded to two branches in Mpumalanga, reaching rural areas that were previously underserved.

The donation of computers was one of the most rewarding outcomes. It allowed us to develop a structured curriculum that includes mathematical concepts and basic computer skills. Over the past year, more than 200 children have benefitted from this program. It’s fostered community involvement and raised awareness about the importance of technology in education.

Before forgood, we had the passion but lacked the tools. We struggled to deliver impactful lessons. Now, our journey has transformed. We have access to resources, we’re expanding our reach, and we’re improving academic performance while igniting excitement about learning.
