- Construction Of 1st Eco Brick Classroom In Diepsloot For Khensanis Collection

Construction of 1st Eco-brick Classroom in Diepsloot for Khensani's Collection
In 2020 Earthly Touch Foundation Constructed 45m2 floor Area classroom for Khensani's collection. The classroom house 20 students. This came about as a plea from Khensani's Collection for a classroom as they had run out of space. The building had the following successes: 12 000 Eco-bricks (550g), 4000 Eco-sand bricks (3.5kg) 7 tons waste plastic (2L PET bottles + all types of waste plastics) diverted from the landfill Approx 7 tCO2 emission Saved (1kg plastic/1kg CO2)
Earthly Touch Foundation (ETF) is a Non-Profit organisation whose main focus is to, contribute to the reduction of global warming through collection of plastic waste and repurposing it into eco-bricks which are then used for construction, making of furniture, and in agriculture. The organisation was registered in 2020 operating out of Gauteng with the main focus in training and education of communities on the impact of plastic pollution and how they can participate in saving their own environment from the impact of plastic pollution. ETF is BBBEE level 1 with its activities aimed at benefiting previously disadvantaged communities through training, skills development and job creation within their own environment. With this mission in 2020 we built our 1st eco-brick classroom that was donated to Khensani's Collection in Diepsloot , South Africa. It accommodated 20 students. Eco-brick project enables us to clean up the environment of plastic litter which is one of the biggest contribution to global warming. This also enables communities especially in township where litter collection is limited to clean up their own environment and repurpose plastic into eco-bricks which is then used in construction. The project also allowed us to clean the environment and at the same time provide a place for education in the township. This project created 20 temporary jobs and saved the environment of 7 tons of CO2 emmisions
