I'm part of Zimconserve, transforming rural livelihoods in Seke Rural, Zimbabwe—a community 52 miles east of Harare where 4,800 people face climate change and food insecurity. We're building the Permaculture Resource Centre, where sustainable agriculture meets community empowerment. In an area devastated by recurring droughts, we're creating lasting solutions through infrastructure, training, and income generation. Our facility includes classrooms, demonstration areas, and protected growing spaces for climate-resilient farming techniques. We're establishing diverse enterprises—mushroom farming, nutrition gardens, fish farming, and medicinal plant cultivation—providing reliable income beyond rain-fed agriculture. Women lead 64% of our 50 participating households. We're strengthening their economic participation through practical training in permaculture, water conservation, and business skills that immediately improve livelihoods.
