Etafeni is a vibrant community centre in Nyanga, Cape Town, committed to uplifting children, youth, and adults affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty through holistic, compassionate programmes. Their work spans from early childhood education and afterschool care to nutrition and breastfeeding support, as well as establishing household food gardens that enhance food security. Mobile health clinics provide vital rapid testing for HIV, TB, and chronic illnesses, coupled with counselling and social work services that protect vulnerable families and address abuse. Beyond health and care, Etafeni empowers women living with HIV through sustainable income-generation projects, crafting products for both local and international markets that build financial independence. Youth benefit from tailored life skills and vocational training, helping them secure employment or further education opportunities.
