CANSA serves all people affected by cancer and seeks to lower risk of cancer. CANSA is a leading role-player in cancer research and the scientific findings and knowledge gained from our research are used to realign our health programmes, as well as strengthen our advocacy role. Advocacy services for patients are free. Our health programmes aim to lower personal cancer risk and advocate for screening to promote early detection. CANSA Care Centres offer a wide range of care and support services: breast prostheses; headwear; natural hair wigs; stoma products / support; free clinical advice; medical equipment hire; in addition to cancer screening services. CANSA offers a free Tele and Virtual Counselling service in most SA languages and support groups. There are CANSA Care Homes in the main metropolitan areas for out-of-town cancer patients and CANSA-TLC lodging for parents and guardians of children undergoing cancer treatment.
