Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
We believe that … Quality, values-based education is an instrument to give children hope and the right foundation to have a future free of poverty and a more equal society. Trained and qualified early childhood development teachers are the critical catalyst for a child’s lifelong learning and development. Early childhood development centres in poor communities are characterised by unqualified teachers assuming the role of babysitter rather than educational practitioner, which inhibits the child’s entry into the formal school system. At The Love Trust, uplifting teachers sits at the heart of our purpose. The Love Trust teacher training SAQA accredited programme spans two years, with weekly in-contact sessions, together with mentoring and small group support on a needs basis. The structure creates the opportunity for students to practice newly learnt skills and use the resources developed in the lectures. As many students did not complete their high schooling, we offer a matric (Grade 12) bridging course.
