How can you help?

Help United Way South Africa by donating clothes and blankets for homeless men, women and children during #Covid-19

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

United Way South Africa has established ‘clothing and blankets collection drive’ and is very excited to invite you to be part of this exciting initiative. As part of the #Covid19 relief efforts, all items collected will be donated to vulnerable homeless men, women, and children, currently at the homeless shelter in Johannesburg. Clothes and blankets are some of the necessities they need in order to help them survive during these difficult times. Due to the lockdown regulations, all donations will be collected from your location, in or around Johannesburg. To donate, kindly contact Vicky Sepp on vsepp@unitedway.org.za / 078 618 0394 or you can inbox us with your details and we'll contact you. Together, we can overcome #Covid19.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
