Help Khulisa Social Solutions raise R15,000 for funding agricultural programmes in 6 regions

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Khulisa Social Solutions need to raise R15,000 to fund agricultural programmes in 6 regions, namely, Meriteng (Rustenburg); Tembisa (Ekurhuleni); Northam (Limpopo); Kamhlushwa (Mpumalanga); Delportshoop (N. Cape); Winelands (W. Cape) as part of Khulisa’s Communities of Opportunity project. These funds are essential in order to empower the communities in these regions with seedling programmes and equipment for school and community gardens. Within our Communities of Opportunity framework, we focus on a holistic community engagement methodology that fosters community cohesiveness and cultural identify through initiatives that bring members together to create positive outcomes. In developing our CoO framework, we conducted extensive research into the challenges facing the communities in the 6 regions of our programme in order for us to hear from community members themselves about their most pressing issues. We found a need for greater skills development and employment opportunities and a need for recreational programmes for school children. With the help of the requested donation, Khulisa will implement a series of agricultural programmes / urban gardening within these communities to address the identified challenges head-on. Community gardens will be developed through the purchases of seeds, fertilizer and necessary supporting equipment, as well as through educating community members on how to cultivate marketable produce. Seedling programmes for schools will also be developed to provide students with an opportunity to develop the skills necessary to grow and potentially monetize their own produce. Together, Khulisa’s agricultural programmes will not only provide the people of these communities with an opportunity to beautify and enrich their surroundings with gardens but will also provide them with a platform to learn and develop marketable agricultural skills, as well as to have a healthy diet. Your donation will qualify for an S18A Tax Exemption Certificate.
