The Viva Foundation is committed to providing employment to young persons [aged 18 - 35] in the Alaska Informal Settlement, Mamelodi East. As the only employer in the settlement, the organisation is an important role-player in facilitating access to the economy, to underprivileged beneficiaries. Presently, we are offering employment to 35 staff members at the Viva Village in a variety of portfolios, from facility staff [cleaners, maintenance team, Community Care Workers], to teachers, assistant teachers, IT practitioners, cooks and admin staff. The majority of our employees are under the age of 35 and as such, it is possible for companies in South Africa to donate toward their employment and make it possible for the organisation to continue and expand this initiative. Supporting Youth Employment currently carries very high B-BBEE rating points.
