STHANDOKUHLE ECD CENTRE

This ECD was started in 1994 by the Mother of the now supervisor as she was a community health worker at the time her job was to go around training people how to survive by making jam and other food for them to survive as she was doing that she started seeing the patten that children were left alone as the parents were gone trying to make money for the family to survive. After sometime of see this she went back to talk to a few people in the community about starting an ECD center to get the children off the streets when their parents are at work or trying to find a job. This was then when one of the people in the community offered her a place she can use to start the ECD. The basic aim of starting this ECD was to get children off the street in order to holistically develop them for their life ahead to show children that education is important no matter where you come from, to show children the road to success is not easy but a very hard road to follow.
