More about Vusizwe Foundation
Vusizwe Foundation was established in 2015 as a development agency of the village of kwaZangashe, near Dutywa in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The NPO has spearheaded many projects including cultural regeneration, GBV awareness, installing boreholes, awareness creation on Initiation Schools Safety, research with academics in Universities in South and in UK etc. Our organisation has had an annual turnover of R2 million. We have audited financials. The name Vusizwe Foundation, is a shorthand expression for Vusizwe sika Menziwa Development Foundation Trust, a trading namer if you like. This is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO). The name is derived from the term ‘vusa isizwe’ which means ‘nation awakening’. By choosing this name the organisation seeks to continue, among other things, to rejuvenate the cultural heritage of its community, namely the nation of Nkosi Menziwa ka Zangashe who gave birth to Chief Pokwana.
