Help Mama Ntombi's Community Projects (MNCP) by building a house for a destitute widow.

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Mama Ntombi's Community Projects (MNCP) is registered NPO and PBO with Section 18A. We work at the Ezinketheni Informal Settlement (near Pietermaritzburg) which lacks the basic infrastructure of proper housing, water, sanitation and roads. It is semi-rural even though it is just 15 kms away from the city centre. Our focus is on the many orphaned and vulnerable children and the aged Grandmothers who care for them but of course we cannot ignore the needs of the wider community in this really destitute area. Mrs. X was left destitute when he husband passed away towards the end of 2017. She herself is HIV+ and as she was too ill to work and could not support and care for her three children, the youngest being only 7 years old, she sent them away to live with her mother in Richmond, some 40 kms away. She had no means of supporting herself. As she had no food in order to take her medication, she was basically waiting to die UNTIL MNCP became aware of her need. We started to provide her with a large food parcel each month and provided her to taxi fares for her monthly hospital visits. As she was now able to take her ARV medication, her health improved. She started a poultry business in order to earn some income but was struggling with this project. She is now also doing some crafts such as making mats from recycled material, which she sells. We have also sent her for training to start a bakery business (baking bread, pizzas, snowballs etc.) The house she is presently living in belongs to her late husband's family. They are now needing the house back and have asked her to leave. This has been reported to the Community Leaders who have allocated another piece of land for her. Please help us to build a three-bed-roomed house for Mrs. X.
