Help Where Rainbows Meet Training and Development Foundation by Donating Sewing Materials and Cloth for Our Female Entrepreneurship Programme

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

One of our programmes is the Siyazenzela Sewing & Beadwork Project, in which we train and mentor previously abused and vulnerable women in sewing and beading - tote bags, bracelets, ornaments, necklaces and more. We foster entrepreneurial skills through the sales they make off their goods. This comes hand in hand with uplifting the women’s upliftment self esteem and providing better support for their family members and friends and finally, grassroots economic growth within Vrygrond. Donations or cash equivalents of small beads, sewing threads, needles and pins, patterned or plain cloth and small plastic bags are important in ensuring the vitality to our programme. Direct donations or in the cash equivalent can be arranged through contacting Mymoena or Kyle using the information on www.whererainbowsmeet.org!

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
