Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
AEI would like to invite you to partner with us in providing spectacles to South African children in need. Through AEI’s One School at a Time (OSaaT) we are tackling vision impairment at public schools thereby giving children a better chance of educational success. An estimated 1 billion people globally suffer from unchecked, yet preventable visual impairments, with around 12.8 million children affected by refractive error. The provision of spectacles to children results in better school performance, accompanied by a decreased rate in repeated grades and school dropouts. In many impoverished families, vision impairment in children is overlooked because of little or no access to eye health services and interventions such as spectacles. Often putting food on the table is prioritised over additional healthcare costs. R250 000 will enable us to take our OSAAT to 10 schools.
