Help African Eye Institute raise R67,000 for the elderly in underserved communities for Mandela Day.
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Let’s take care of our senior citizens this Mandela Day Mandela Day is a globally commemorated event celebrating the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela on his birthday, 18 July. This is a day when everyone is encouraged to emulate Madiba’s actions, by putting aside tensions and working together for a common good. Individuals are called on to give just 67 minutes of their time for community service - a drop in the ocean compared to Madiba’s 67 years of fighting for social justice and equality. President, activist, Tata, Father of the Nation… Madiba filled many roles in his 95 years, but throughout it all, he fought for those who couldn’t fight for themselves. It’s time for us to all take up that fight, to harness the power within each of us to create positive change in our communities. South Africa’s senior citizens need your help. Eye health is critical, yet financial challenges mean that only a fraction of our elderly can access life-changing interventions. This month, in honour of Tata Madiba, you can help the African Eye Institute raise R67 000 for our Elderly Vision Screening, bringing eye health services to our underserved communities. With your help, we can visit 3 old age homes in July 2024 and change the lives of hundreds of senior citizens in Mandela’s honour. #itsinyourhands
