Buy a handmade Christmas present from a Cause

Another way to support a Cause over the Festive Season is to buy products from Causes and use them as unique gift ideas.

There are quite a few Causes who have income-generating programmes – producing from clothing and toys to jewellery and art. Every sale generates income for this Cause, helping to build long-term sustainability, create jobs, support skills development and empower communities.

The Diepsloot Foundation is one such a Cause. The learners of this Foundation make beautiful funky, repurposed dog beds, and they also make repurposed see-saws from recycled tyres and pallet wood. All proceeds go directly back to the learners to encourage them to explore self-employment opportunities. This works well with their motto: “Empowering and Uplifting the People of Diepsloot”
