South Africa has no shortage of young people who are hungry, capable, and ready to work. What it has a shortage of is access. Access to devices. Access to training. Access to the kind of certified, practical digital skills that actually open doors in today's economy. That's the gap Astute Tech Foundation exists to close. We operate out of Daveyton, Benoni — deep in the East Rand, where unemployment is high, connectivity is patchy, and the nearest opportunity often feels like it belongs to someone else's suburb. We work with youth who've been left out of the digital economy not because they lack potential, but because no one built the bridge. Our programs cover everything from foundational digital literacy to industry-recognised certifications, hands-on device refurbishment, and direct pathways into employment and entrepreneurship.
