Community Greening Program
Backyard Farmers’s Community Greening Program transforms neglected public spaces into clean, green environments that restore dignity and community pride. Through tree planting, clean-up campaigns, and environmental education, the program empowers residents, especially young people, to become custodians of their surroundings while building healthier, safer, and more sustainable communities for future generations.
Backyard Farmers launched the Community Greening Program to restore neglected public spaces and rebuild community pride. In areas such as Glenway Estate, Gem Valley and Mahube, residents came together to clean illegal dumping sites, plant trees, and transform dry open spaces into green environments filled with life and hope. The program united volunteers, young people, and community leaders around a shared purpose: creating cleaner, safer, and more sustainable communities. Beyond environmental restoration, the initiative empowered residents to take ownership of their surroundings and inspired young people to become active environmental leaders. Through tree planting, clean-up campaigns, and environmental education, the Community Greening Program demonstrated that meaningful change begins when communities work together. What was once neglected space became a symbol of dignity, unity, and possibility. Today, the program continues to promote environmental sustainability while cultivating pride, responsibility, and hope for future generations.
