More about Cape Town Society for the Blind

Cape Town Society for the Blind (CTSB) is a non-profit organisation established in 1929 that empowers blind and visually impaired persons through skills development, rehabilitation, employment opportunities, and social support. For nearly 100 years, CTSB has worked to improve the quality of life of individuals from vulnerable and disadvantaged communities across the Western Cape, helping them achieve greater independence, dignity, and inclusion. Our mission is to create opportunities that enable blind and visually impaired persons to participate meaningfully in society and become economically active through empowerment rather than dependency. CTSB offers a range of programmes designed to support both personal and economic development. Our vocational training and Small Business Units provide beneficiaries with practical skills in cane weaving, fabric weaving, sewing, beadwork, knitting, and other handcrafted production activities that generate income and promote self-sustainability...
