The power of early intervention
All behaviour is communication
We recently had a therapy referral where the learner had begun experimenting with substances such as marijuana, tobacco and alcohol. After assessment it was determined that the client is at risk of becoming an addict and was referred to our local SANCA for an outpatient program, upon return the client thanked the CK staff for pushing and encouraging him to attend these sessions as he got to realise that his experimental behaviour would lead him into trouble and become a barrier to him achieving his life goals and dreams. The client tested negative for substances 2 weeks post completing his outpatient program and indicated that he would continue popping by the organisation to ensure sobriety. His parent described positive changes in his behaviour since he enrolled for support.
