ELRU (Early Learning Resource Unit)

The Early Learning Resource Unit (ELRU) works in under-resourced urban, peri-urban and rural communities in South Africa to provide access to quality early childhood development (ECD) services for children aged 0 to 6. ELRU has delivered innovative ECD programmes, research and support to the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) sector for 48 years. Our Centre Support Programme (CSP) has trained thousands of ECD practitioners and principals and continues in various communities. Our home visiting Family and Community Motivator (FCM) and First 1000 days programmes support pregnant women, parents and caregivers with life skills training and accessing government services in the Western Cape and North West provinces. ELRU establishes playgroups in the Western and Northern Cape provinces.
