Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre

Ethelbert Child & Youth Care Centre (CYCC) is a full-time residential haven for 65 orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children and youth between the ages of 18 months and 18 years. As a registered non-profit and public benefit organisation (NPO & PBO), we provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young lives are given the chance to heal, grow, and thrive. Each child in our care is placed through a formal process led by the Department of Social Development, the Department of Justice, and child welfare agencies — ensuring that every placement is guided by the best interests of the child. Founded in 1907 as a memorial to the Corbishley family’s son who tragically drowned, and established with the support of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, Ethelbert CYCC has been serving the KwaZulu-Natal community for over a century.
