JOB CREATION & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

The year 2022 saw the opening of our newly established Job Creation and Skills Centre, after much time and effort was spent in trying to raise the funds to do this the year before. With great excitement, we announce the launching of the Job Centre, which is atlast fully operational, furnished, and ready for beneficiaries, thanks to a generous donation from Momentum Metropolitan. We are most grateful for the Business Challenge hosted by the Forgood/Momentum partnership. We had the good fortune to win this challenge and ended up taking home a R 75,000 cheque when we won the 1st prize. It is through these funds that we officially opened the Centre on the 1st of October. Our first intake of 5 youth have gone through the Job Readiness Programme. Two of these have now become volunteers working with our organisation, and the other three were placed in other jobs. Our biggest concern at the moment is to ensure that the project can sustain its own costs on a monthly basis. We plan to do this by using the venue to double up as an internet cafe' and printing services. This way, we can generate funds that will finance the operational costs on an ongoing basis. We have thus launched a crowdfunding campaign to help us generate donor support to get the resources in place for doing this.
