When Franklin arrived at Gift A Child Children's Home, he was just a few months old. Like many children who come into care, his journey began with uncertainty. He arrived with no control over the circumstances that had brought him to our doorstep, but from the moment he entered our home, he became part of our family. Over the years, Franklin grew up surrounded by people who believed in him. He learned to take his first steps in our hallways, celebrated birthdays with his brothers and sisters in care, and discovered his strengths through school, sports, and the encouragement of dedicated caregivers. Today, at 17 years old Franklin stands on the threshold of adulthood, he is no longer the vulnerable baby who arrived at our home all those years ago. He is a confident young man with dreams, goals, and the belief that his future is full of possibility. Franklin hopes to continue his studies after matric and pursue a career that will allow him to give back to his community. He understands the value of opportunity because he has experienced firsthand what can happen when someone invests in a child's future.
