Bridging Hearts and Purpose: DUT's Public Relations Students empower Goodlife foundation.
In October 2024, Public Relations students from the Durban University of Technology volunteered with the Goodlife Foundation for a one-day community outreach event. The students assisted with social media content creation, community engagement, and promotional activities to raise awareness of Goodlife’s work. The experience allowed the students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world community work while supporting Goodlife Foundation’s mission to uplift and empower others.
Goodlife Foundation: A Day to Remember In October 2024, the Goodlife Foundation had the pleasure of hosting Public Relations students from the Durban University of Technology. The students joined us at our kitchen on Pickering Street in Durban. Together with our kitchen manager, Temba, and founder, Mr Danny Govender, they helped prepare and serve warm meals to more than 120 people from the community. From buttering bread to handing out food parcels, they worked with smiles, kindness, and a real sense of purpose. Even though their visit was short, they used their PR skills to help us share our story. They took photos and videos of the feeding programme and posted them on social media to raise awareness about hunger and our work at Goodlife Foundation. Their posts helped spread the message to more people and encouraged others to get involved. We appreciated how the student's showed teamwork, respect, and genuine care for those we serve. The Goodlife Foundation is thankful to Durban University of technology Public Relations students for giving their time and hearts. They reminded us that even one day of helping others can make a big difference in the lives of many.
