Help The Rural Child Charity Shops is a project of the Goedgedacht Trust with eight shops currently operating: one dedicated bookshop, a mobile bookshop that travels to schools, one furniture shop and five clothing shops. We sell well-priced, second-hand items of good quality. Our Mobile Bookshop travels from school to school selling books to parents, learners, and teachers. With the onset of Covid 19, the Mobile Bookshop was temporarily unable to visit schools like we used to. This led to the establishment of the Online Bookshop which continues to offer the joy of reading to children. The income generated from these stores goes directly towards the running of the programmes of the Path onto Prosperity Rural Youth Centres (POP) assisting rural children and their families in the Swartland area of the Western Cape. Our Mobile Bookshop does schools; we have many requests for library books from under resourced schools. At many schools, the library stands empty due to lack of funding ...
