Home Tekna is a place of safety for children, birth to twelve years old, removed from their homes by court order. The Home takes care of the child's total care, providing therapy, medical care, food, clothing and schooling. Children can be at Tekna for a week, a month or in some cases, years. The Home works with the Department of Social Development to place children back with their family, with extended family, foster parents or adoptive parents.
