Started in 1995, Humana People to People in South Africa (HPPSA) is a community development organization rooted in the people to people approach and philosophy, which places individuals, families, and communities at the centre of program design and implementation. Guided by this approach, HPPSA works alongside communities as active partners in driving their own development, ensuring that interventions are sustainable, inclusive, and responsive to local challenges and needs. As a proud member of the international Humana People to People Movement, HPPSA began its work in South Africa in 1998 in Soweto, in partnership with the national government. Since then, the organization has grown into a key driver of positive change, addressing pressing socioeconomic challenges faced by underprivileged and underserved communities across the country. HPPSA team Cquest is currently molding bricks in Nongoma Village, KwaZulu Natal. To discuss the program and gain support, project participants met with Kwa Nongoma indunas, local councilors, and community people. The concept of the 3-layer rocket stove was welcomed by a number of community members. A mobilization is still taking place in three wards; 15, 20, 22 wards.
