- Restoring Confidence In Children Who Learn Differently

Advancing literacy and numerical, skills overcoming learning disabilities
We aim to overcome learning disabilities and disorders and learning barriers among children in Amajuba district. Many children with learning disabilities are not fully supported in schools and in homes due to lack of resources and inclusive classroom teaching. I Matter Foundation as a non-profit organization will ensure early screening and identification and provide educational support to children with learning disabilities. We seek support to expand our educational programme.
Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and believe in themselves. At I Matter Foundation, we meet children who are often misunderstood because of learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays. Many of these children are labelled as “slow” or “problematic,” when in reality they simply need understanding, support, and the right intervention. Our Learning Disability Rehabilitation Programme was created to change that story. We work directly with children, parents, teachers, and communities to identify learning barriers early, provide screening and support, improve literacy and learning skills, and restore confidence in children who have lost hope in the classroom. We also educate parents and teachers on how to support children with learning disabilities in a respectful and inclusive way. Behind every child is a story. A story of struggling to read while classmates laugh. A story of sitting silently because they are afraid to answer wrong. A story of a parent who feels helpless because they cannot access support. A story of a teacher who wants to help but lacks training and resources. But we also see another story emerging: A child reading their first sentence with confidence. A learner proudly participating in class again. A parent finally understanding their child’s needs. A community beginning to embrace inclusion instead of stigma. This programme is changing lives — but we cannot do it alone. We are looking for partners, donors, volunteers, educational materials, learning equipment, stationery, food support, transport assistance, and financial contributions to help us reach more children with disabilities in underserved communities. Together, we can break learning barriers and build a future where every child is seen, heard, valued, and supported. Because every child matters.
