The Johannesburg Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Johannesburg SPCA) is a registered non-profit organisation dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals and promoting responsible animal care throughout Johannesburg. For over a century, we have been at the forefront of animal welfare, providing rescue, shelter, veterinary care, rehabilitation, inspections, investigations into animal cruelty, community outreach, education and responsible pet ownership initiatives. Every year, thousands of abused, abandoned, neglected and injured animals find safety and a second chance through the Johannesburg SPCA. Our Inspectorate responds to reports of cruelty and neglect, while our Animal Hospital provides essential veterinary treatment, sterilisation programmes and emergency care.
