More about Mother of Peace Illovo
Mother of Peace Illovo is a foster-based care organisation in KwaZulu-Natal providing vulnerable children with safe, stable homes and the opportunity to grow in a supportive family environment. Our approach is built around the belief that every child deserves a family, a future and a place to belong. We provide long-term care that supports children’s physical, emotional, educational and social development. Through our family homes, children receive daily care, nutritious food, education, guidance and opportunities to develop the confidence and skills they need for adulthood. Mother of Peace also works to strengthen sustainability through projects including poultry farming, vegetable gardens, mushroom farming and home maintenance. These initiatives help support the community while giving children opportunities to learn practical skills and understand responsibility, work and sustainability.
