September is Suicide Awareness Month

A reminder that checking in on someone can save a life. A simple “How are you, really?” can mean more than you know. Let’s break the silence, end the stigma, and remind each other we’re not alone.

Every 40 seconds, someone loses their life to suicide. That’s not just a statistic—it’s someone’s friend, parent, sibling, or child. Too many people suffer in silence because of stigma, fear, or the belief that no one will understand. This month reminds us to pause, listen, and reach out. Sometimes, the most powerful words you can say are: “I’m here. You’re not alone.” 💡 Things we can all do this September: Check in on loved ones—even the “strong” ones. Normalise conversations about mental health. Share resources and support systems. Be kind—always, because you never know what battles others are fighting. You matter. Your story matters. And asking for help is a sign of strength, never weakness. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a professional, a helpline, or someone you trust. One conversation can save a life.
