Celebrating 25 Years with 67 Days of Impact

For 25 years, Oliver’s Village has been transforming lives through education, food security and community upliftment. To celebrate this milestone, Oliver’s Village has launched its “67 Days of Impact” campaign, a powerful community-driven initiative running from 13 May to 18 July 2026 in honour of Mandela Day. The campaign invites individuals, businesses and communities to get involved through volunteering, donations, mentorship and awareness initiatives, creating lasting impact.

For 25 years, Oliver’s Village has stood as a beacon of hope, compassion and transformation for vulnerable communities on the East Rand. What began in 2001 as a humble soup kitchen in the Benoni CBD has grown into one of the region’s leading community upliftment organisations, changing lives through education, food security and skills development. Now, as Oliver’s Village celebrates this incredible milestone, the organisation is proud to launch its inspiring “67 Days of Impact” campaign on Wednesday, 13 May 2026. The campaign will run over 67 days, culminating on Nelson Mandela International Day on 18 July 2026. More than just a fundraising campaign, it is a movement designed to unite individuals, businesses, schools, churches and communities in creating meaningful and lasting change. From a Small Soup Kitchen to a Village of Hope Over the past 25 years, Oliver’s Village has evolved into a multi-faceted organisation serving hundreds of beneficiaries every day, all free of charge to those who need support most. Today, the organisation’s programmes include: • An Early Childhood Development Centre supporting 120 children aged 1–5. • Accredited agricultural training programmes and agricultural social enterprise gardens. • Accredited computer training courses. • A community soup kitchen serving approximately 250–300 meals daily. • Behind every meal served, every child educated and every learner trained is a story of resilience, opportunity and hope. The “67 Days of Impact” campaign is a celebration of those stories and an invitation for the wider community to help shape the next 25 years of impact. A Campaign Built on Action The heart of the campaign lies in participation. Oliver’s Village is encouraging people from all walks of life to get involved in practical, impactful ways that directly uplift vulnerable communities. Supporters can participate by: • Becoming a Corporate Impact Sponsor through one of 67 donations of R6,700. • Donating food, toiletries, blankets, stationery or clothing. • Hosting collection drives at schools, churches or workplaces. • Supporting Mandela Day activities or the ECD Centre Fun Run. • Volunteering at the Soup Kitchen, ECD Centre, Computer Training Centre or Agricultural Gardens. • Reading to children at the Early Childhood Development Centre. • Offering mentorship, workshops, internships or skills training. • Sharing the campaign to spread awareness. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, contributes toward sustainable, life-changing impact. Throughout the 67 days, Oliver’s Village will also share inspiring stories, activities and community moments that showcase the power of collective giving and support. Driving Sustainable Change As a Level 1 BBBEE contributor, Oliver’s Village offers businesses the opportunity to contribute meaningfully toward their Socio-Economic Development (SED) requirements while investing directly into community upliftment. The organisation is also a registered Section 18A Public Benefit Organisation, allowing qualifying donors to receive tax benefits for their contributions. But for Oliver’s Village, the campaign is about more than fundraising. “Our goal is not just to raise funds, but to create a movement of giving. We want individuals and companies alike to feel that they can be part of the village, whether through donations, volunteering or simply spreading the word.” Building the Next 25 Years Together As Oliver’s Village celebrates a quarter-century of service, the organisation remains committed to empowering vulnerable communities through compassion, education and opportunity. The “67 Days of Impact” campaign is a reminder that real change happens when communities come together with purpose. Whether you donate, volunteer, partner, mentor or simply help share the message, you can become part of a legacy that continues to transform lives every day.
