More about Project Isizwe
Project Isizwe is a South African non-profit organisation dedicated to closing the digital education gap by providing internet connectivity and digital devices to underserved schools across the country. We believe that reliable connectivity and appropriate hardware are foundational to giving every learner access to modern educational content, regardless of where they live or their school's resources. One of our flagship initiatives is a device-supported reading programme, currently active across 56 underserved schools. To date, we have deployed approximately 3,200 devices in support of this programme, directly reaching learners who would otherwise have no access to digital reading tools or e-learning content. Many of these devices are now ageing or were never specified for the demands of daily classroom use, and over 1,000 are currently non-functional due to hardware faults, insufficient storage, or compatibility issues.
