PROTEC (Programme for Technological Careers)

PROTEC focuses on STEM education for disadvantaged learners from Gr 4 to 12 assisting them to access careers in Science, Maths, Engineering and Technology. This independent NPO has for the past 44 years built an excellent reputation, provided holistic, high quality education and career support, and life skills training. We also have an impactful teacher support programme in many of the 130 PROTEC feeder schools. Currently we have branches and/or projects in 6 provinces and are entering the other 3 provinces in 2026. For South Africa to prosper, it needs many more young graduates in technology, IT and engineering. PROTEC provides learners support in Maths, Science, English together with a life-skills programme called World of Work.
