At Sekwanele National Empowerment Centre for Abused Women and Children, we stand with the women and children who face the unthinkable—violence, neglect, and fear in their own homes. As a registered non-profit organization, our mission is simple but powerful: to help survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) rediscover safety, dignity, and hope. We provide refuge to those in crisis—offering emergency shelter, trauma counselling, legal guidance, and the tools to regain independence. In addition, our Youth in Excellence programme reaches boys and girls impacted by abuse at home, helping them break cycles of violence and find a path toward healing and purpose. VISION AND MISION SEKWANELE is a vernacular term meaning “it is enough”. That basically outlines the mission and vision of the organisation: putting an end to Domestic and Gender Based Violence. “ARISE AND SHINE” is the adopted mission statement of the organisation.
