Zanell Hands' an initiative under Uyilo Arts Academy, which combines peer academic support with a "needs bank" for essential items like meals and hygiene products, is a holistic and community-based approach to student well-being. This model addresses the dual challenges of academic stress and socio-economic hardship, recognizing that a student's ability to focus on schoolwork is directly tied to their basic needs being met. We are using different artistic mediums to challenge the socio-economic status quo and create employment opportunities is one of our strategies to create upliftment in our communities and schools. Our mission taps into the power of art to not only inspire new ways of thinking but also to build a sustainable, creative economic sustainability within a community by offering engaging and positive creative outlets, the organization provides a healthy alternative to drug use, addressing a major challenge faced by youth.
