A Day of Friendship, Joy, and Belonging

On 23 May 2026, Woodside Sanctuary residents enjoyed a wonderful Buddy Day hosted by the Lions Clubs of Johannesburg, partnering with students from La Salle College for a day of friendship, fun, and inclusion. Filled with laughter, shared activities, and meaningful connections, the event created lasting memories and celebrated the achievements of our resident winners. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of friendship, community, and inclusion.

On 23 May 2026, the spirit of connection and inclusion came beautifully to life at Buddy Day — the annual event hosted by the various Lions Clubs of Johannesburg where people with disabilities are paired with high school students for a fun-filled day of friendship and activities. This year’s Buddy Day was truly unforgettable as our residents were warmly partnered with students from La Salle College. From the very beginning, hearts connected, laughter filled the air, and meaningful friendships began to blossom. Together, the buddies shared exciting activities, joyful conversations, and special moments that created lasting memories for everyone involved. The day was filled with smiles, encouragement, and the beautiful reminder that inclusion and kindness have the power to bring people together in extraordinary ways. We are also incredibly proud of our resident winners, who shone brightly throughout the event with their enthusiasm, confidence, and joyful spirit. Their excitement and achievements made the day even more special. At Woodside Sanctuary, experiences like Buddy Day mean so much to our angels. They create opportunities for connection, belonging, and celebration while reminding us all of the importance of compassion, friendship, and community.
