What About The Boys? is a transformative social impact programme dedicated to empowering high school boys across South Africa by redefining masculinity and supporting the emotional, mental, and social development of young men. We believe that in order to build safer, more compassionate communities, we must begin by investing in the boy behind the man-shaping values, attitudes, and behaviours that promote empathy, respect, and responsibility. At its core, the programme challenges harmful stereotypes that equate manhood with dominance, control, or emotional suppression. Instead, it encourages boys to see strength in kindness, courage in vulnerability, and leadership in service. Through a holistic model that combines education, mentorship, film-based learning, dialogue, and community engagement, What About The Boys? provides a platform for young men to explore their identity, develop emotional intelligence, and learn positive ways of relating to others.
