More about Zimele
Zimele is a registered non-profit company (K2020173723) and non-profit organisation (245-021 NPO) with public benefit organization (PBO) status (9159165258). Zimele’s interdisciplinary team of health professionals will provide prosthetic fitting and physical and psychological rehabilitation services for amputees from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds, and will aid in their societal integration through access to skills training and work opportunities. Zimele’s goal is to increase access to the provision of prosthetic rehabilitation services in South Africa, and to encourage the economic self-sufficiency of those whose rehabilitation journey we assist. We approach a person’s rehabilitation holistically, designing a roadmap according to each amputee’s individual needs and goals – an individualised prosthetic rehabilitation journey. Zimele is currently located in Cape Town in the Western Cape but with time and more funding, we hope to expand to have a national reach.
