Help National Rescue for Poverty & Drugs by Clothes & Christmas Gifts for 500 Vulnerable Children
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
This festive season, National Rescue for Poverty & Drugs is rallying support to bring warmth, dignity, and joy to 500 vulnerable children across Cape Town. Many of these children come from shelters, informal settlements, and families affected by poverty, addiction, and displacement. For them, Christmas is not about gifts — it’s about hope. We are urgently seeking donations of new clothes, shoes, and age-appropriate gifts (toys, books, hygiene packs, school supplies) to create a memorable Christmas experience. Each child deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and cared for.Why it matters: • A warm outfit can restore dignity and confidence. • A small gift can spark joy and remind a child they are not forgotten. • Your contribution helps us show love without judgment — and build trust with families in crisis. How you can help: • Donate new clothes or gifts for children aged 2–16 • Sponsor a child’s Christmas parcel (R150–R250 per child) • Partner with us for bulk donations or branded contributions Together, we can make Christmas magical for children who need it most. Let’s wrap each gift with love — and remind every child that they matter.

Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
